DAY ONE: "Control The Reward" workshop in which Allan will recap the children’s exercises and elaborate on how the
simple exercises described in “Children and Dogs” and how the simple exercises can be used for more advanced training such
as directed hand signals as well as for use in competitive obedience. Driving The Drive Do your ever get the feeling that
your are trying to steer your dog into a behavior only to find your dog heading in other directions and distractions. This
workshop is intended to help you get control of your dog’s other drives. You will gain an insight on how to refocus your
dog’s attention on you. Controlling the Reward (Drives) is fundamental in true control of your dog. You will not want to
miss this video if the following challenges intrigue you: You desire to eliminate the challenge of distractions; you desire
off-lead control; you desire a simple way to take control of the steering wheel. Calgary, Canada July, 2005
DAY TWO: Full day workshop Establishing Control, Building the Precision Retrieve
introduces the Retrieve to gain off leash control. Whether you are planning on using your dog for competitive or
recreational retrieving this workshop will give you some very valuable insight to controlling your dog. An often overlooked
problem in teaching retrieving is that owners often attempt to teach control and retrieve at the same time. Learn a
different insight to this approach. Establishing Control Prior to building and precision on exercises we have to establish
control. As in retrieving we often use our competitive exercises to gain that control This can jeopardize the dogs future
performance on those exercises. Get the insight to establishing control first. Calgary, Canada, July, 2005 |

This is
an excellent book on dog training for children. It is
beautifully illustrated by Mike Ayers. The idea of this book
is to help you implement simple dog training games with your
child or in a dog training class for children. The goal is
for the child to forge a deep, strong friendship with his or
her dog and have a dog that listens to and respects the
child, leading to a relationship in which the child and dog
can play together with good manners toward each other.
The instructions are short, simple,
and clear and helpful pictures accompany them. The child
can read the words as well as follow the pictures to know
what to do. In the back of the book you'll find further
explanation of the uses and purpose of the exercises.
Tawzer Dog Videos highly recommends
the menu driven video above "Games & Rhymes #200431. It
is a full day seminar with children using the exercises
outlined in the book, so that one can read the exercise and
watch it being implemented. Tawzer Dog Videos is offering a
special price if order together.
